Commission on Judicial Selection Recommends Fourth Judicial District Candidates

The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy created upon Judge Charles A. Porter Jr's retirement in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District. The Fourth Judicial District consists of Hennepin County.

Luis Bartolomei - Bartolomei is an attorney with Student Legal Services at the University of Minnesota and an adjunct professor at Hamline University. Bartolomei previously practiced at the law firm of James C. Selmer and Associates. He has also served as the Human Rights Commissioner for the city of Edina and was the Interim Executive Director and board member of the Chicano Latino Affairs Council.

Andrew Dunne - Dunne is a Senior Litigation Counsel for the US Attorney's Office. He previously served as Chief of their Criminal Division and was an Assistant Director of the Department of Justice's Office of Legal Education. Dunne is a volunteer with the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association and was a former basketball coach with Annunciation Catholic School.

Kathleen Sheehy - Sheehy is an Administrative Law Judge at the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings. Prior to working at the Office of Administrative Hearings, she was a lawyer at Dorsey and Whitney for 9 years. Sheehy is a parent volunteer at Southwest High School in Minneapolis and is a Community Crime Prevention Block Club leader.

An announcement of the appointment will be made following an interview process over the next few weeks.
