Governor Dayton acts on bills

5/4/2012 10:14:43 AM

Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed four bills into law:

  • Chapter 278, House File 2555, containing the legislative recommendations of the Sunset Advisory Commission.

  • Chapter 279, House File 2795, regulating the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications in race horses and also allowing simulcasting of horse races to tribal casinos and expanded card play at the state's two race tracks.

  • Chapter 280, House File 2647, clarifying the definition of public data relating to agreements involving payment of public money. This bill passed both bodies of the legislature with unanimous support.

  • Chapter 282, House File 2269, appropriating funds to the Office of the Secretary of the State, pursuant to the Help America Vote Act.

Governor Dayton vetoed Chapter 281, Senate File 1656, a bill which would require legislative approval of state academic standards and graduation requirements. /governor/assets/Ch_281_SF_1656_Veto-attach.pdf_tcm1055-91885.pdfA copy of the veto message is attached.
