Governor Dayton Acts on Bills

3/20/2012 10:14:43 AM

Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed three bills into law:

  • Chapter 132, House File 1515, modifying provisions for late fees that may be charged by a landlord, and it also delays several effective dates related to eviction actions in certain circumstances.

  • Chapter 134, House File 2152, clarifying that real estate licensees who own and operate their own property can do so independent of their licensed real estate activities.

  • Chapter 135, House File 1738, relating to procedures for detachment of property from a city which, if detached, becomes part of the unincorporated town.

All three of these bills passed both bodies of the legislature with unanimous support.

Governor Dayton vetoed Chapter 133, House File 1560. This bill would have transferred final decision-making authority in contested case hearings from Executive Branch Agency Heads to Administrative Law Judges at the Office of Administrative Hearings. /governor/assets/CH133-HF1560-veto.pdf_tcm1055-93608.pdfA copy of Governor Dayton's veto message is attached.
