Governor Dayton Signs Chapters 14-19 into Law

Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed 6 bills into law:

  • Chapter 14, Senate File 1086: Relating to human rights; ensuring public accommodations for blind and disabled persons. This bill passed the House and Senate with unanimous support;
  • Chapter 15, House File 504: Relating to workers' compensation reinsurance; eliminating the reinsurance association prefunded limit;
  • Chapter 16, House File 290: Relating to state government; modifying false claims provisions;
  • Chapter 17, House File 129: Relating to commerce; regulating mortgage foreclosures; clarifying the definition of a foreclosure consultant. This bill passed the House and Senate with unanimous support;
  • Chapter 18, House File 75: Relating to health; requiring continuing education hours for certification as a community paramedic; and
  • Chapter 19, House File 834: Relating to metropolitan planning activities; extending the sunset date of the Metropolitan Area Water Supply Advisory committee.
