Saint Paul - Today, Governor Mark Dayton ceremoniously signed Chapter 171, HF 1829. The bill was officially signed into law on April 9, 2012.

Governor Dayton was joined at the signing ceremony by House author Representative Tony Cornish and county attorneys from around the state including:

The new law allows County Attorneys and Assistant County Attorneys to carry a firearm while on duty, provided they have a valid permit to carry.
