Governor Dayton Appoints Sean M. Quinn to Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals

ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today announced the appointment of Sean M. Quinn as Judge on the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. Mr. Quinn will be replacing the Honorable Manuel J. Cervantes, for a term expiring January 7, 2019.
 
“Mr. Sean Quinn has demonstrated a strong commitment to justice while serving honorably in both the public sector and private practice,” said Governor Dayton. “His professional experience and volunteer service on behalf of hardworking Minnesotans have prepared him well for this important role. I thank Mr. Quinn for his dedication to Minnesota and willingness to serve on the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals.”
 
The Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals is an independent agency of Minnesota’s executive branch. It reviews workers’ compensation cases decided by compensation judges at the Office of Administrative Hearings and in some cases decided by the Workers’ Compensation Division at the Department of Labor and Industry.

About Sean M. Quinn:
Mr. Quinn is a partner at Falsani, Balmer, Peterson & Quinn, where he handles workers’ compensation, personal injury, social security disability and long term disability cases. Previously, Mr. Quinn was an associate attorney at Foley & Mansfiel, an associate at Meshbesher, Birrell & Dunlap, and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marianne Short and the Staff Attorneys Office, Minnesota Court of Appeals. He earned his B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
 
Mr. Quinn serves as a AAA Arbitrator, teaches classes on Social Security Disability through Duluth Community Education, and is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Attorney Program.
