Saint Paul, MN - Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon has been appointed to serve on two committees of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA). Lt. Governor Prettner Solon will Co-Chair the State Strategies in Energy-Exploratory Committee, and was reappointed as a member of the International Committee.

The State Strategies in Energy-Exploratory Committee will explore if possibilities exist within the Midwest for lieutenant governors and others to work on shared energy concerns and issues in a bi-partisan way. The International Committee provides direction on opportunities for global engagement by the states' seconds-in-command.

"I am excited about these appointments," Lt. Governor Prettner Solon said. "The committee assignments provide an opportunity to work on a broad range of issues, from energy to securing global markets for Minnesota products, in a collaborative environment."

These committee roles are in addition to Lt. Governor Prettner Solon's role as a NLGA Executive Committee member. These committees will meet about three times a year and, in addition to their specific duties, will address issues of mutual concerns to all members.

NLGA is the professional association providing support, research and training to the officeholders first in line of succession to governor in all 50 states and the U.S. territories.
