Governor Dayton Issues Emergency Executive Order 17-11

11/1/2017 1:52:49 PM

The Governor’s emergency executive order will help address a propane and diesel fuel shortage across Minnesota

ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed Emergency Executive Order 17-11, delivering emergency relief from regulations incorporated in Minnesota Statutes, section 221.0314, subdivision 9, pertaining to hours of service for motor carriers and drivers providing direct assistance in emergency relief efforts.

This fall, Minnesota farmers have faced challenges with unseasonably low temperatures and rainy conditions. Governor Dayton’s Emergency Executive Order will help ensure farmers have access to the diesel fuel and propane they need to dry late-harvested crops.

This order does not relieve motor carriers and drivers from daily driving requirements under paragraph (a) of the Code of Federal Regulations, title 49, part 395.3.

A copy of the Emergency Executive Order can be found on the Governor’s website.
