ST. PAUL, MN - On Friday, July 17, 2015, Governor Mark Dayton and U.S. Congressman Rick Nolan will visit the Brainerd Lakes Area to assess damage caused by recent severe weather. Governor Dayton and Congressman Nolan will be joined by Public Safety Commissioner Mona Dohman, Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Tom Landwehr, emergency management personnel, and local elected officials.
Governor Dayton and Congressman Nolan will be available to answer questions from reporters at approximately 2:30pm. Details of that media availability are included below.
FIRST STOP: MEETING WITH AREA RESORT OWNERS
Governor Dayton, Congressman Nolan, and state and local elected officials will visit Kavanaugh's Resort to assess storm damage and visit with resort owners from across the Brainerd Lakes Area. This visit is open to the press.

At 12:30pm, Governor Dayton and Congressman Nolan will assess area storm damage by helicopter. This flyover is closed to the press. THIRD STOP: BRIEFING WITH EMERGENCY MANAGERS and LOCAL OFFICIALS
Governor Dayton and Congressman Nolan will hold a meeting with emergency managers and local officials at the Timberwood Church to discuss the storm's impact on the community and local businesses. This event is open to the press.
