Governor Dayton Announces Appointment to MnSCU Board of Trustees

ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Roger Moe to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees. The 15-member Board is responsible for governing MnSCU's system planning, academic programs, fiscal management, personnel, admissions requirements, tuition and fees, and rules and regulations. 
 
“I am very pleased to appoint former Senator Roger Moe to serve on the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities' Board of Trustees. I am confident he will help further Minnesota State’s mission of providing Minnesotans with high-quality learning opportunities that prepare them for success,” said Governor Mark Dayton. “Senator Moe has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to public service on behalf of Minnesotans. I thank him for his willingness to once again serve the people of our state.”

Senator Roger Moe is the current president of National Strategies, Inc., and previously served 32 years in the Minnesota Legislature, including 22 years as the Senate Majority Leader. His legislative accomplishments include the creation of MnSCU, the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership, the Midwest Higher Education Commission, and the Environmental Trust Fund. He has also served as the Vice President of Coleman/Christison, Inc., and as a mathematics teacher and coach at Ada High School.
 
Additionally, he is a former member of the Policy Consensus Initiative Board of Directors, Debate Minnesota, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund Governance Committee, and the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board. Senator Moe earned his B.S. from Mayville State University and an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Minnesota for his years of public service.
