ST. PAUL, MN - Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith released the following statements today after learning of the death of Deputy Sheriff Steven Sandberg.
The following is a statement from Governor Mark Dayton:
"I deplore the terrible, senseless murder of Deputy Sheriff Steven Sandberg. On behalf of all Minnesotans, I extend my deepest condolences to his family. This tragedy reminds us that Minnesota's law enforcement officers risk their lives every day and night to keep us safe."
The following is a statement from Lt. Governor Tina Smith:
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Deputy Sheriff Steven Sandberg, and the terrible price his family has paid for this senseless act of violence. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow officers."
