Governor Proclaims "Gopher Women's Hockey National Champions Day" in Minnesota
ST. PAUL, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton issued a proclamation declaring today, Wednesday, April 15, 2015, to be "Gopher Women's Hockey National Champions Day" in Minnesota. The proclamation honors the University of Minnesota Women's Hockey Team after their 4-1 victory over Harvard University in the NCAA Division I Women's Hockey 2015 Frozen Four championship game, earning the team their sixth NCAA Division I Championship.
Governor Dayton honored members of the Minnesota Gopher Women's Hockey Team with a reception at the Minnesota Governor's Residence. The Governor and team were joined by Head Coach Brad Frost, Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea, and state legislators for the victory celebration.
