ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today issued the following statement, following the passing of golf legend Arnold Palmer.
"I remember Arnold Palmer as the greatest golfer of his time. I was thrilled to watch him play in the St. Paul Open at the Keller Golf Course in the 1950's. Then, during the first years of televised golf tournaments in the 1960's, he became a superstar.
"In his later years, he continued to be a widely admired ambassador of the game. And even more important than being a great golfer, he was, by all accounts, a good man."
