Governor Dayton urges Minnesotans to show their support for the Minnesota Wild

ST. PAUL, MN - Governor Mark Dayton today called on hockey fans across the state to rally behind the Minnesota Wild as the team returns to the Xcel Energy Center to take on the Colorado Avalanche in Game 3 of the NHL Playoffs.

Proclaiming Monday, April 21, "Go Wild! Day" in Minnesota, Governor Dayton is encouraging Minnesotans to show their support for the Wild by wearing the team colors throughout the day on Monday (forest green, Iron Range red, harvest gold, and Minnesota wheat), and during all upcoming playoff days.

"As Minnesotans, we are proud to live in the great State of Hockey," said Governor Dayton, who was an All-State high school goalie in Minnesota, and is an avid hockey fan today. "The Wild had two tough games in Colorado. Now they're playing two games in Minnesota, where they can even up the series. Go Wild!"

Governor Dayton plans to wear his Minnesota Wild jersey to work at the State Capitol on Monday in a show of support for the team. The Governor encourages Minnesota fans to seek permission, as necessary, from their employers, teachers, or supervisors to ensure their team gear is appropriate for work and school.
