Dayton asks Commission on Judicial Selection to aid in review process
Saint Paul, MN - Governor Mark Dayton announced today that two at-large judgeship vacancies are occurring on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. The Honorable Gordon W. Shumaker will be retiring on October 14, 2011, and the Honorable Edward Toussaint, Jr. retired on July 15, 2011, which leaves openings for two at-large judgeships on the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Governor Dayton has asked the Commission on Judicial Selection to aid in the review process for all Minnesota Court of Appeals vacancies. The At-Large members of the Commission will consider applications and offer recommendations to Governor Dayton. The Commission on Judicial Selection and Governor Dayton are committed to seeking out individuals who possess great integrity, legal knowledge, experience and a sense of fairness.
The application process is now open for these vacancies.
