Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith Proclaim Thursday, August 24 to be “The Great Minnesota Get Together Day”

ST. PAUL, MN – Commemorating the start of the Minnesota State Fair, Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith have proclaimed Thursday, August 24, 2017 to be “The Great Minnesota Get Together Day” in the State of Minnesota. The State Fair annually attracts more than 1.9 million visitors from across the state and surrounding region. One of the most highly attended fairs in the United States, the Minnesota State Fair is legendary for its exhibits, animals, and fun food options.
 
Home to classic attractions such as the Skyride, Giant Slide, and All-You-Can-Drink Milk stand, the Great Minnesota Get Together is widely acknowledged to be the best state fair in the country.
