GOVERNOR PAWLENTY SIGNS EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE ORDER PROVIDING FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESPONSE TO TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS -- June 18, 2010 |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty today signed Executive Order 10-09 providing for assistance in response to recent tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. On June 17th, 2010, heavy rain, tornadoes and strong winds moved across widespread areas of Minnesota. Extreme weather has caused significant property damage and displaced local homeowners and businesses. The Governor's Emergency Executive Order calls for the Minnesota National Guard to provide public safety assistance to affected local governments. |

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER RESCINDING EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE ORDER 10-07 -- May 21, 2010 |

| Governor Pawlenty today signed Executive Order 10-08 rescinding Emergency Executive Order 10-07 in recognition of a balanced budget agreement. The Minnesota Legislature has subsequently passed an acceptable balanced budget bill (Chapter 1, 2010 First Special Session) during a one-day special session held on Monday, May 17, 2010. This balanced-budget agreement restores the State of Minnesota's fiscal stability, thereby resolving the issue that necessitated prompt action under Emergency Executive Order 10-07. |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty signed an executive order yesterday that provides direction to state agencies regarding emergency planning and emergency management. The order, which updates and replaces executive order 07-14, assigns responsibilities to agencies based on the Minnesota Emergency Operations Plan and the State All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that President Obama has approved a major disaster declaration for Minnesota. The presidential declaration clears the way for federal relief and recovery assistance for Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Chippewa, Clay, Kittson, Lac Qui Parle, Marshall, Norman, Polk, Redwood, Renville, Scott, Sibley, Traverse, Wilkin, and Yellow Medicine Counties and the Tribal Nation of the Upper Sioux Community. |
