Saint Paul - Governor Tim Pawlenty today signed Emergency Executive Order 08-17, directing the Minnesota National Guard to assist the Mille Lacs County Sheriff in a search and recovery operation on Lake Mille Lacs. On October 29, 2008, a person was reported missing and presumed drowned. The Mille Lacs County Sheriff has requested National Guard resources to continue its efforts to locate the missing person. The following is the text of the Governor’s order:
EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE ORDER 08-17 I, TIM PAWLENTY, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Minnesota Constitution and applicable laws, do hereby issue this emergency executive order:
Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 2006, Section 4.035, Subdivision 2, this Order is effective immediately and shall remain in effect until such date as elements of the military forces of the State are no longer required. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have set my hand this 14th day of November, 2008. |
