The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty in reaction to the news of President Gerald Ford’s death.

“While he was not fully appreciated at the time, America came to respect President Ford’s integrity, openness and quiet strength. He will be remembered as an unselfish leader who restored trust in the Presidency and healed our country at a crucial time.

“On behalf of the people of Minnesota, Mary and I extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Ford family.”
