Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Mary Finnegan to the Board of Cosmetologist Examiners. Finnegan, of Brainerd, is a cosmetology, esthetics, reflexology and aromatherapy instructor with St. Paul College and an international examiner with CIDESCO – the National Cosmetology Association. Previously, she was the owner and operator of Mary Finnegan’s Family Hair Care as well as Finnegan’s Rainbow Family Hair Care. Finnegan holds Cosmetology Manager Operator, Cosmetology Instructor, and Cosmetology School Manager licenses with the State of Minnesota. She holds degrees in esthetics and cosmetology from St. Paul College, holds a Cidesco diploma, and is certified in massage therapy, aromatherapy, and reflexology. Finnegan, who has been a member of the Board of Cosmetologist Examiners since it was separated from the Board of Barber and Cosmetologist Examiners in July 2009 and was a member of the previous board since 2006, is reappointed as a cosmetologist member to a four-year term that expires on January 6, 2014. The Board of Cosmetologist Examiners oversees the administration, enforcement, regulation, and adoption of rules regulating the cosmetologist profession. The board consists of four members appointed by the Governor, including three cosmetologists and one public member. |
