GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS McDONALD TO BOARD OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY -- April 10, 2009

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Rebekah McDonald to the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.

McDonald, of St. Paul, is a private practice attorney in the area of family law. She is a qualified neutral for mediation, family mediation, and arbitration in Minnesota. McDonald earned her bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and her juris doctor degree from Hamline University in St. Paul. In addition to her J.D., she received a certificate in alternative dispute resolution from Hamline’s Dispute Resolution Institute. McDonald is a member of the Ramsey County and Hennepin County, American, and Minnesota Bar Associations. She is appointed as a public member to fulfill a four-year term that expires January 3, 2011 and replaces Sonia Hohnadel on the board.

The Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy is responsible for licensing and disciplining marriage and family therapists. The board is made up of seven members appointed by the Governor.
