GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS FOUR TO THE STATEWIDE I

Saint Paul - Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Connie Lee Berg, Mark Eggen, Adrienne Haugen, and Judith Sanders to the Statewide Independent Living Council.     

Connie Lee Berg, of Red Lake, is appointed to a Council position for a representative of American Indian vocational rehabilitation projects.  She will serve a three-year term which ends January 7, 2008.  Berg replaces Gloria LaFriniere on the Council. 

Mark Eggen, of Minneapolis, is appointed to a Council position for an advocate member.  He will serve a three-year term which ends January 7, 2008.  Eggen was first appointed to the Council in 2002. 

Adrienne Haugen, of Olivia, is appointed to a Council position for an advocate member.  She will serve a three-year term which ends January 7, 2008.  Haugen replaces Clarence Jones on the Council. 

Judith Sanders, of Minneapolis, is appointed to a Council position for a representative of the blind community.  She will serve a three-year term which ends January 7, 2008.  Sanders replaces Roseann Faber on the Council. 

The Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) advises state agencies on issues related to independent living for persons with disabilities.  The Council consists of 21 members, including 16 appointed by the Governor.
