Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Dr. John Whitten to the Board of Animal Health.
Whitten, of Alexandria, is an owner and partner in the Alexandria Veterinary Clinic P.A. He has been a licensed veterinarian in Minnesota for over twenty-two years. Whitten received a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a D.V.M. from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in East Lansing. He is appointed to a Board position for a veterinarian and will serve a four-year term which ends January 5, 2009. Whitten first joined the Board in 2002, and is being reappointed to his second term.
The Board of Animal Health oversees numerous voluntary and mandatory programs that focus on controlling and eradicating animal diseases in Minnesota. The Board consists of five members appointed by the Governor. |
