Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that President Obama has approved a major disaster declaration for Minnesota. The Presidential declaration clears the way for federal relief and recovery assistance for the following counties: Faribault, Freeborn, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Polk, Steele and Wadena. |

In a letter to Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Cal Ludeman, Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that Minnesota will not participate in the early Medicaid enrollment contained in the new federal health care law. The Governor's decision was required by a new state law enacted last month. |
