Indicator 9: 11th Grade Math

Rationale: Minnesotans value an educated citizenry, well prepared for work and for participation in democracy and community life. Math skills are required for many jobs and for admission to many colleges and universities.
About this indicator: The percentage of students meeting or exceeding 11th grade math standards grew from 29.8 percent in 2006 to 41.6 percent in 2009. The gain between 2008 and 2009 was the highest recorded since the test was first administered. The 2009 test includes questions for the “GRAD” test which students are required to pass to graduate the following year.
